Within the field of Child and Youth Work, Erin has gained fantastic experience and priceless knowledge in her ability to program for children 5 years up to 18 years of age.
Graduating from Fanshawe College with a Certificate in the Human Services Foundation Program and a Diploma on the President's Honour Roll in the Child and Youth Worker Program,Erin went on to attend continuing education seminars throughout her career which included such skill bases as Suicide Intervention, Grieving and Positive Psychology.
Gaining hands on experience, Erin found herself working, volunteering, and completing co-operative educational posts in a variety of institutions including a pre-school and public school, correction facilities like Community Homes and Genest Detention Centre, treatment facilities like Raoul Wallenberg Centre and CPRI, and residential facilities like KidsLink, Anago Girls' Home and CAS of London.
Due to Erin's education and field experience in programming for children, she has developed a strong skill base in counselling, recording and reporting, behaviour management, communication, analysis, learning styles, and understanding family dynamics; all of which gives her the ability to adapt her approach to individual and situational needs.
On a personal note, Erin grew up in a family that experienced the challenges divorce brings. Then at the age of 19, she met her husband and became the instant step-mom to two toddler boys which introduced her to the challenges of parenting in a blended household. After functioning as a CYW for a number of intense years, Erin decided to step away from the field to work in the financial sector(Scotia Bank and later as an independent mortgage agent with INVIS) and eventually spent time raising her two daughters.
With her children becoming more independent, Erin has created and coordinated a senior youth group at Byron United Church, as well as, became involved with the Girl Guides of Canada 110th Sparks and Brownie units. She actively volunteers her services in the neighborhood public school and is committed to the running of community outreach projects through Beth Emmanuel Church.
Never forgetting her lifelong passion of empowering children, Erin is thrill to be creating fantastic, engaging and interactive children's programs designed for each child's unique needs.
